It was a cold fall day outside, but Dubton didn't care, he had enough clothing for all seasons so that he could survive with his roommates. He slipped on a long-sleeved gray shirt, then proceeded to put on a black t-shirt, he wore this a majority of the time.
He opened his door and sniffed the air... Nothing was wrong. That was something that was rare with this house. He stepped out of the door frame and suddenly a voice came from downstairs, "God dammit!" It was a familiar voice, the one of one of his roommates. "Sontar," Dubton yelled, "What did you do now?!"
He was about to storm downstairs when he realized he had forgotten his glasses and goggles. He went back into his room, and grabbed his glasses. He placed them on his face and fixed them. It was a piece of his outfit that was almost in vain, for Dubton was blind in his right eye. Dubton had gotten used to it by now, but he hated to break routine. He then grabbed his goggles: yellow-based lens with a crack on the right and a green spiral on the left.
He put them on his forehead, tightening them and making sure they weren't too uncomfortable.
Now there was Sontar to take care of.
Sontar had moved into Dubton's house a few months ago. This morning he was wearing his black jacket, something that he wore constantly. As Dubton finally got off of the last step, he knew what Sontar had done. Smoke. He burned something... again. "Sontar... What the hell is wrong with you?"
"I don't know, I was making something, then FOOM", Sontar lied. Though Dubton knew what Sontar had really done. he was lighting the newspaper on fire and he burned himself. "Oh my go- I swear if I didn't run this house it'd be burned to the ground." Dubton said under his breath.
Just as Dubton was about to chew Sontar out, there was a slam upstairs. Jemank was up. Footsteps were heard down the hall on the upper level and finally Jemank's hockey mask was seen as he came downstairs. "Hello, everyone." Jemank said calmly. He was wearing ripped jeans and a jacket, similar to Sontar's.
Dubton did not want to deal with these two at the time. He still had to brush his teeth and wash his face, not to mention breakfast. So he walked upstairs, hearing silence downstairs. Sontar and Jemank weren't the two to have a long conversation. He made his way into their bathroom and looked at the mirror, and smiled. Several things people could identify Dubton by: his goggles, his eye and his chipped canine. It made eating a tad awkward for him, but once again it was something he learned to cope with. He did what he needed to do and ruffled his black, slightly untamed hair.
As he walked out Dubton ran into Sontar. "I forgot my mask." The mask Sontar referred to was the gas mask he wore constantly, with a pentagon on the mouth piece and circles on the sides. With his hood up and mask on, Sontar's face was practically hidden.
Dubton let him past him and made his way into the kitchen of the two story, three bedroom townhouse. Since Dubton had very little time before they all had to go, he decided on eating a bowl of cereal. So he grabbed a box of Lucky Charms and set it down on the counter. He grabbed the fridge handle and swung the door open. He looked inside and instantly groaned. They were out of milk.
